Welcome wine lovers!
My name is Anna Siradze. Over the years, I have spent a generous amount of time travelling in Europe soaking in the harvest seasons, curious to learn from winemakers and their vineyards. Normal life included incurring the cold winters in Montreal for my university years and working in restaurants with the passion for learning an energetic and authentic form of hospitality. Studying politics and public policy had generated a sense of hopelessness with my role in having an impact on our world which inevitably turned me to the wine industry, where I searched for a more fulfilling way to connect earth and nature to our dinner table.
And so, returning back to Vancouver, I sought to learn about wine the unconventional way. The 'natural' wine movement, as we call it, where there is a respect and love for nature's natural processes and how we affect it, didn't come to me in some 'aha' moment. Rather, the philosophy is something I grew up with, having attended the local Rudolf Steiner school, as well as my family following the principles and calendar of biodynamic farming. This alongside my Georgian roots has been able to set the foundation for my deep dive into this project that stands before you; bridging Georgian winemakers and Canadian consumers who care for natural winemaking, honest business, and alive wine. I seek to learn all that I can from those I meet and in turn, to share the people and the culture behind the wine that I have the utmost privilege of pouring for you.
Gaumajos!
